Gold Filled Wire

Gold filled wire is a favourite among jewelry makers as it is a consistent colour and is a much thicker coating than the lower cost, gold plated findings and wire.  Gold filled is known to have a longer life and even if scratched a little from normal wear, it will still maintain the gold appearance due to its higher gold content.  

Our Gold Filled wire is 14/20 which means its made with 14kt Gold and the gold content in weight is 1/20th of the weight of the product.  

For cleaning finished pieces made with gold filled wire, it is recommended to use a very mild soap in water and an extra soft bristle toothbrush.  Also, be sure to check that any stones in the piece are safe to be cleaned with the soap/brush.
